The Killers teamed up with Erasure’s Andy Bell for a performance of ‘A Little Respect’ in London last night.

Vince Clarke – songwriter for bands including Erasure, Yazoo and Depeche Mode – has announced details of his first solo album, ‘Songs Of Silence’. Check out the lead single below.Set for release on November 17 via Mute, the upcoming instrumental album sees the Ivor Novello-winning songwriter explore the limitless possibilities of Eurorack – a modular synthesiser format famed for its addictive and limitless configurations.It also allows Clarke to explore the premise of musical genres, and create a more experimental record than with his countless chart-topping releases, and develop “a 10-track lyric-less album of uncategorisable ambient beauty”, according to a press release.Check out the lead single ‘The Lamentations Of Jeremiah’ below, which comes with a visual accompaniment directed by Turkish-born NY-based portrait photographer Ebru Yildiz.“I could have gone on forever, I could have not stopped,” Clarke said, explaining his use of Eurorack when creating new material for the album.“I was enjoying the process so much and wasn’t thinking about anyone else hearing it.

Erasure‘s 1988 single ‘A Little Respect’ has been voted the ‘Ultimate Pride Anthem’ in a new poll.In a listener poll to launch new radio station Virgin Media Pride, the track beat competition from Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga, Kylie Minogue, Cher and Madonna to the number one spot.Aguilera’s ‘Beautiful’ came second, followed by Steps‘ ‘Tragedy’ which came third, Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’ fourth and Spice Girls‘ ‘Spice Up Your Life’ fifth.“I’d like to thank all the Erasure fans for voting for us and ‘A Little Respect for Pride Anthems’,” said Erasure’s Andy Bell.“It’s an evergreen classic and we look forward to seeing you on tour in October. Erasure have announced they’re releasing ‘The Neon Remixed’, a companion album to their 2020 LP, ‘The Neon’.The new LP, which is set to arrive on CD and limited-edition double coloured vinyl starting July 30 via Mute Records, is mostly compiled of re-workings from producers like Octo Octa, OMD’s Paul Humphreys, and Gareth Jones.However, to accompany the announcement, the synth-pop duo have shared a brand new original track called ‘Secrets’.
