Happy Mondays and Black Grape, has died aged 60.Tributes have been paid from a number of Wagstaff’s friends and colleagues, including Bez, who posted a retro image of Black Grape on his Facebook page on Saturday (March 22), adding: “Mr Paul Wagstaff (Wags), remembering the good times. RIP my friend.”Wagstaff was part of the band Paris Angels, who emerged during the Madchester period in the late 1980s. Closely associated with the burgeoning acid house scene and the legendary Hacienda nightclub, their funky indie dance music was exemplified by singles such as ‘Perfume’ and ‘Scope’.When Shaun Ryder and Bez formed Black Grape in 1993 after the dissolution of Happy Mondays, they recruited Wagstaff on guitar.

Badly Drawn Boy has announced a 25th anniversary UK tour for his 2000 album ‘The Hour Of Bewilderbeast’ – find all the details below.The English singer-songwriter – real name Damon Gough – is set to celebrate his Mercury Prize winning-debut with a series shows across the UK in March and April of next year.Complete with a full band, the musician will perform the record in its entirety, along with other classics and fan favourites from his back catalogue.The tour kicks off at Birmingham Town Hall on March 13 2025, followed by stops in Oxford, Leeds, Brighton, Southampton and more, along with two nights at London’s EartH theatre. The run will then conclude with a gig at Manchester Factory International at Aviva Studios on April 5.Tickets for all shows go on sale this Friday (October 4) at 10am BST, and you can purchase your’s here.

Squeeze have announced plans for a 50th anniversary UK tour next year.The band will be hitting the road for 27 shows with special guest Badly Drawn Boy, which will kick off at Sheffield City Hall on October 4.Further dates will include shows in Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Cardiff and Brighton before they wrap up their tour at London’s Royal Albert Hall on November 11.
