The Queen's closest help are working away from their families for three weeks at a time to keep the monarch safe during the coronavirus pandemic.

Her Majesty's servants have been permitted to spend two weeks at home and one week in quarantine, before returning to work for three weeks, reveals The Sun Online.

Shift patterns have been created in a bid to protect the 94-year-old monarch from the deadly bug – servants also have to be tested for Covid-19 before they go back to work.

The hand-picked staff at Windsor Castle have been following the protocol for nine weeks, when it was implemented. Details reported by The Sun reveal the staff consists of 24 servants who are split into two teams of 12, that work "three weeks on and three weeks
