police have shut down an area after a lorry reversed into a lamp post. Shandwick Place in Edinburgh was shut down after Edinburgh Trams confirmed that a HGV is now leaning against the supporting wire of the overhead line at Atholl Place causing safety issues.

Trams will not be able to serve the area until the issue is resolved and are instead running part route between Edinburgh Airport and Murrayfield, according to Edinburgh Live.

Lothian buses also confirmed that a number of buses have been diverted away from the incident.A concerned resident shared an image of a pole with tram lines attached to it appearing damaged and coming out of the concrete.They said: “This is right outside our house on Atholl Place.
