Labour MP with one of 'safest seats in the country' to stand down at general election
The Labour MP for the Wigan constituency of Makerfield, Yvonne Fovargue, is standing down at the General Election on July 4, she has announced. The 67-year-old has represented the area since 2010 when she was elected with a majority of 12,490. At the last election in 2019 she had a majority of 4,740.
