A man whose friend lost his life dragging him to safety from a railway track was today cleared of his manslaughter.

The Atalnta Journal-Constitution, local police reported two suspects had robbed a customer around 11pm outside the brewery, before proceeding inside and forcing Scales into his vehicle at gun point.It is has not been established at what point Scales – real name Melvin Adams – was shot during the ordeal, however, police said he escaped on foot to a home in nearby Hapeville.Adams is currently recovering at Grady Memorial Hospital. Melvin Adams (Fish Scales), a solo artist and member of the beloved southern rap group Nappy Roots, was shot late Wednesday night during a robbery and attempted kidnapping outside Atlantucky Brewing in Atlanta’s Castleberry Hill neighborhood. He is currently recovering at a local hospital. The news was first reported by local NBC affiliate 11 Alive and later confirmed by a representative of Nappy Roots on the group’s verified Instagram page.
