Get the stories that matter to you sent straight to your inbox with our personalised newsletter.Organisers have hailed the first community market giving away free food to those in need as a big success.Community group the Darkwood Crew organised the event at the village green on Darkwood Crescent in Ferguslie Park.Since the start of lockdown, the team of volunteers have been delivering food parcels every night thanks to donations from the Co-op and FareShare.They’ve since began another partnership with the Greggs Foundation and any surplus food will now be given away at the community market, which will be held every Thursday morning.Terry McTernan from the Darkwood Crew said: “No judgement, no questions, no awkwardness or embarrassment.
