EXCLUSIVE: Screen Media has acquired worldwide rights to Monsters of California, the upcoming sci-fi adventure film which marks the directorial debut for Blink-182’s lead singer and guitarist, Tom DeLonge, who also wrote and performed original music for the film. 

It will be a Reba reunion on the set of new Lifetime movie The Hammer. Reba McEntire reunites with fellow Reba alum Melissa Peterman for the film inspired by the life of traveling circuit judge, Kim Wanker. McEntire’s real-life partner Rex Linn (CSI: Miami) and Kay Shioma Metchie (Totally Normal) also star.

Naman Ramachandran Newly formed Los Angeles and London-based distribution company Cartel Studios International is making its MipTV debut with a slate of 18 titles spanning mystery dramas, thrillers and romantic comedies. The outfit, led by Gary Marenzi, Giovanni Pedde and Stephen Tague, was launched in 2021 by prolific genre producer Cartel Pictures whose credits include “Creepshow” and “Unborn.” Highlights of the MipTV slate include “Deadly Infidelity” (A&E Lifetime), “Dangerous Snow Day” (Lifetime Movie Network), “Deadly Girls Night Out” (Lifetime Movie Network), “Cheating for your Life” (A&E Lifetime), “Crushed” (Tubi) and “Romeo & Juliet Killers” (Tubi).

Joe Otterson TV ReporterFox is developing the “Cliffhanger” novels by TJ Middleton (real name Tom Binding) as a one-hour drama series.The series is described as a darkly comedic one-hour drama following the quirky exploits of rideshare driver Audrey Greenwood, who emerges from the pandemic with a startling realization: she never wants to see her husband Al’s face again. So, one dark and stormy night, fueled by rage and tequila, she tries to kill him.

EXCLUSIVE:  Production and management company The Cartel has entered into an agreement with New York Times bestselling author Brenda Jackson and writer-producer Bobby Smith Jr to option and acquire over 25 of the author’s novels. Jackson’s canon will be adapted for film and TV.

Christmas in July will return to Hallmark bringing Crashing Through The Snow, starring Amy Acker and Warren Christie, to the lineup.

Los Angeles-based management and production company The Cartel has unveiled a multi-movie development and production deal with the management company Untitled Entertainment. The agreement will see the partners develop and produce 10 movies for TV and theatrical release and international distribution over the next two years.
