U.K. trio Honeyglaze's story is one of fate and chance. The band only met for the first time just three days prior to a residency at south London venue The Windmill (where bands including Black Country New Road, Sorry, and Black Midi also cut their teeth) and it was during that run that they came to the attention of Speedy Wunderground label boss Dan Carey.

Heartworms has shared her dark new single ‘May I Comply’ – listen to it below.The new track is the first release from Heartworms since March EP ‘A Comforting Notion’, which NME said in a five-star review was “brimming with all the promise of the next great cult act”.‘May I Comply’ arrives with an accompanying monochrome music video by Gilbert Trejo, who also directed Heartworms’ previous video ‘24 Hours’.“When I wrote this track I just wanted to get over an ex and to tell my little brother he’s good enough… turned out to be a lot darker than I thought,” Heartworms, real name Jojo Orme, shared in a press statement.Check out ‘May I Comply’ below.Gilbert Trejo added: “For ‘May I Comply’ Jojo and I wanted to lean harder into the stark black and white world that Heartworms is building, washing everything but the band out in a sea of emptiness. Between shooting ‘24 Hours’ and ‘May I Comply’ I’ve had the chance to photograph Heartworms on tour and was excited about capturing a bit more of the energy of Jojo’s performance at this stage.”‘May I Comply’ is produced by Speedy Wunderground head Dan Carey (Wet Leg, Slowthai, Fontaines D.C.) who Heartworms said she “idolised” before meeting him.“And then he came into my life and he sees me the same as I see him,” she told NME last year.

Foals have shared the Dan Carey remix of ‘2AM’, and spoken to NME about what to expect from his upcoming ‘Life Is Dub’ remix album.The band had been teasing the dub remix of their acclaimed 2022 album ‘Life Is Yours’ since last summer, before announcing that the full remix by Speedy Wunderground label boss and superproducer Carey (Wet Leg, Slowthai, Fontaines D.C.) would be arriving as part of 2023’s Record Store Day releases.For a taster of the record, today (February 24) Foals shared the Carey dub mix of the single ‘2AM’.“This is the most interesting version,” frontman Yannis Philippakis told NME. “It’s one of the most full and dubbiest moments of the record.

Royel Otis have shared a new single – listen to the bright and summery ‘Sofa King’ below.Following recent singles ‘I Wanna Dance With You’ and ‘Kool Aid’, the track marks the third preview of the Australian duo’s forthcoming EP ‘Sofa Kings’, which will be released on March 31 via OURNESS.‘Sofa King’ arrives with an accompanying music video, which sees the band – who appeared in the NME 100 2023 – pay homage to their hometown of Sydney, as they perform the song against the backdrop of a coastal cliff.Forming in 2020, Royel Otis released debut EP ‘Campus’ the following year. Their breakout single ‘Oysters In My Pocket’ arrived in 2022, taken from second EP ‘Bar & Grill’.Speaking to NME earlier this year, guitarist Royel Maddell teased the band’s forthcoming debut album, describing how a recent UK trip saw them “speed-dating” producers, hitting the studio with Speedy Wunderground boss Dan Carey and James Ford, Arctic Monkeys’ longtime producer.

Squid have shared a roaring live version of new single ‘Pamphlets’ – watch it below.The eight-minute rendition of the track, the studio version of which was released last week, was recorded at the Larmer Tree Gardens in Dorset, best known as the home of End Of The Road Festival.For the performance, the band were joined by Speedy Wunderground boss and producer Dan Carey on guitar.

Stephen Fretwell has announced details of ‘Busy Guy’, his first new album in more than 13 years.Fretwell’s third record will arrive on July 16 via Speedy Wunderground, and comes after he previously previewed it with lead single ‘Oval’.Today (April 7) sees Fretwell debuting ‘Embankment’, which is the next song to arrive from the record.Opening up on the recording of the album, Fretwell explained how he headed into Soho’s Dean Street Studios with producer and Speedy Wunderground boss Dan Carey.“I was so fired up, I just rattled off the songs,” Fretwell said.The album title, Fretwell explained, was also Carey’s idea.
