Strictly Come Dancing star Karen Hauer spoke candidly about her split from Kevin Clifton this week.The 38-year-old professional dancer, who was married to him from 2015 to 2018, revealed all during an appearance on Samantha Baines’ podcast The Divorce Club.Karen admitted that it was her rescue dog that got her out of bed in the morning and helped her to heal.She said there were a couple of weeks following their split which were particularly “dark,” but knowing that she needed to care for her pet made her get up and leave the house.The emotional BBC star sounded like she was in tears as she recalled that difficult period.She said that Betty was her “saviour”.When asked by the host if she remembered a “tough time” after her split, Karen said:

Speaking to comedian and author Samantha Baines, the star explained: "When you work with your husband, I worked with my ex for nine years, ever since we started dating we were always together." Karen and Kevin first met each other on the live dance show Burn the Floor back in 2011, they later joined Strictly Come Dancing together.The pair tied the knot in 2015, but after a short marriage, they decided to go their separate ways in 2018.
