Police are searching for witnesses after a van was torched in Erskine.Renfrewshire cops were called to the scene on Baird Avenue at 10.30pm on October 24 after the fire was started.Police now believe the blaze was a deliberate act and investigations are ongoing.Thankfully there were no injuries.Detective Constable Gary Bruce, of Paisley CID, said: “Thankfully nobody has been injured as a result of this thoughtless act.“Enquiries are ongoing and we are now appealing for the assistance of the public.

Get the stories that matter to you sent straight to your inbox with our daily newsletter.Detectives investigating the attempted murder of a 24-year-old man in Paisley have delivered a letter to every home in the area appealing for information.The note has been dropped into the letter boxes of homes near Stanley Reservoir where the young man was stabbed on Tuesday night.Issued by Paisley CID, the letter states police are still trying to establish a motive for the attack, which was carried out by a group of young men aged 16 to 20.The letter states: “Around 9.30pm on September 1, 2020, a 24-year-old man was within the Stanley Reservoir, Paisley when he was approached by several males aged 16-20.
