Omar Apollo is nearing the end of a busy release cycle for his sophomore LP. IVORY drops April 8 via Warner Records and boasts a tracklist nearly twice as long as any of the Mexican-American crooner's previous projects.

initially shut in 2019 for a planned one-year refurbishment, though those plans were scuppered after a fire broke out at the venue in January 2020 before the coronavirus pandemic and “colossal water damage” then further held up progress.KOKO’s restoration and redevelopment has now been completed, and it intends to relaunch next month as a “50,000-square foot state-of-the-art live music venue and broadcasting house”.New additions to KOKO include its 200-capacity Fly Tower ‘venue within a venue’, a new shop/DJ space (which will feature “exclusive merch drops and artist collaborations”) and a morning to late-night pizzeria and tap bar, with Café KOKO also set to host intimate live performances.After Lianne La Havas recently announced a trio of shows at KOKO in May, the venue has this morning (March 1) confirmed a host of names who will perform as part of its relaunch.The likes of Pete Doherty, Jorja Smith, Kim Gordon, Tems, Portico Quartet, Omar Apollo, Remi Wolf and more have all confirmed gigs at KOKO in the coming months. Omar Apollo has announced his upcoming forth album, ‘Ivory’.The 16-track album is slated to release on April 8 via Warner Records. While the tracklist for ‘Ivory’ has not yet been revealed, it has been confirmed that the record will include previously released singles ‘Go Away’ and ‘Bad Life’ featuring Kali Uchis.The album will also include the newly released ‘Invincible’ featuring fellow singer-songwriter Daniel Caesar, which received a music video.

Omar Apollo has shared a euphoric new single called ‘Go Away’ – you can watch the song’s video below.The new track, which is the singer-songwriter’s first new music since last year’s ‘Apolonio’, hears Apollo yearn for a partner over the top of an airy set of synth pads and a luscious groove.“But if you had to go away again/ I just don’t see you enough/ I wish you saw you enough/ It’s something in the way I feel your skin/ I just don’t see you enough/ I wish I saw you enough,” Apollo sings on the hook, mastering his falsetto.Produced alongside Carter Lang and Chromeo, ‘Go Away’ is accompanied by a gorgeous new video directed by Jenna Marsh.
