Eurovision's Sam Ryder confirms identity of Norway's Subwoolfer as British boyband star
Eurovision superstar Sam Ryder has revealed the identity of one half of the duo Subwoolfer, Norway’s entry into the song contest this year.Appearing on stage wearing black suits with yellow wolf-head masks, Subwoolfer sent Eurovision fans into a frenzy as viewers turned into amateur detectives in a bid to work out who was behind the disguises. The pair, who go by the pseudonyms of Keith and Jim, came in 10th place as they bagged 182 points with their single Give That Wolf A Banana. Now UK entry Sam Ryder has confirmed speculation that Subwoolfer is in fact Ben Adams, a British singer who is best known as a member of the British-Norwegian band A1.A1 won Best Newcomers at the BRIT Award back in 2001 and had two number one UK singles, Take On Me and Same Old Brand New You.Although the boy band split up in 2002, Adams later reunited with his former bandmates Christian Ingebrigsten and Mark Read to release new singles and perform a series of concerts in Norway.Eurovision commentator Graham Norton fuelled rumours of Subwoolfer’s identity during the live final of the contest, saying: “So we think the shorter wolf is Ben, Ben Adams from the boyband A1.”Another strong theory was that Subwoolfer were Ylvis, the duo behind catchy hit What Does The Fox Say, who are signed to the same record label that released Give That Wolf A Banana.
