Coldplay almost scrapped current world tour due to suffering ‘big financial crisis’
Coldplay have revealed they came very close to cancelling their current Music Of the Spheres world tour after being hit with money issues and being forced to deal with a ‘big financial crisis’.The chart-topping band’s shows have been very well-received as they tour the globe as eco-consciously as they can, delighting with guests as random as Alan Partridge and as heart-warming as teen fan and pianist Leo Hall and Ukrainian refugee Roman Panchenko.However, it very almost wasn’t to be.Reflecting on what it took to get to the stage for the opening concert in Costa Rica back in March, lead guitarist Jonny Buckland revealed: ‘We had quite a strange build-up to this tour. Lots of behind-the-scenes stuff was difficult, trying to make it green, and then suddenly it became really difficult to transport things around the world.’Singer and frontman Chris Martin continued: ‘It became financially stressful, which we hadn’t had before.
