On the heels of three Emmy nominations for his most recent documentary The Greatest Night in Pop, Bao Nguyen has entered production on Jimi, an authorized, feature-length doc on the meteoric rise of rock star Jimi Hendrix for Double Agent (Asif Kapadia’s 2073), Network Entertainment (Brats, Sidney), and Experience Hendrix.

Beastie Boys have announced a special vinyl reissue of ‘Hello, Nasty’ to celebrate the album’s 25th anniversary.The album was originally released in 1998, with a 4LP box set then released in 2009 to celebrate the album’s 10th birthday.With that version of the album long out of print, it will now return on September 8 via the UMe label.The box set features a book alongside 21 bonus tracks, featuring rarities, B-sides, remixes and more.See the package and pre-order below.Hello Nasty is 25. Beastie Boys are being honoured with a new street name in New York City.The street – on the Lower East Side corner of Ludlow Street and Rivington Street – will be renamed in the band’s honour, after being approved by the New York City Council according to PIX11.The street was made famous by the band on the cover of ‘Paul’s Boutique’. The new sign will recognise the achievements of Michael “Mike D” Diamond, Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz, and the late Adam “MCA” Yauch.“As many of us know, once the Beastie Boys hit the scene, it really changed the hip-hop game,” said council member Christopher Marte (via PIX11).
