North and South made their mark on the pop scene in the late 1990s, but in the years since they had a hit with I'm A Man (Not A Boy) and played a fictional version of themselves on the CBBC series No Sweat, one member revealed that life in the spotlight wasn't quite as glamorous as it looked.The band was made up of teenagers James Hurst, Lee Otter, Tom Lowe and Sam Chapman, and James, the band's guitarist and vocalist, opened up about the gruelling reality of their hectic lifestyle in 2001: "I was 16 when I moved to London from Norfolk, and I'm a vegetarian so cooking for myself was difficult, so I got really ill at one point." He shared the troubling effects on his health: "I was seven stone two. I'd wake up at five in the morning, ritually be sick, get dressed and go out to make our TV show," he told The Guardian.

Before he was the ‘Champagne Papi,’ Drake was just neighborhood teenage heartthrob Jimmy Brooks on the Canadian hit television series Degrassi: the Next Generation. Even though the “Flip the Switch” rapper was part of the cast for seven seasons, Drake almost left the show after his character was shot and confined to a wheelchair toward the end of his time on the show. That’s according to a new oral history, Degrassi’s creator and head writer James Hurst revealed to the A.V. Club on Friday, October 15.

Degrassi: The Next Generation has revealed that Drake threatened legal action against the show, in which he co-starred, over a wheelchair storyline.The rapper appeared as Jimmy Brooks in the Canadian drama from 2001 over seven seasons.However in a recent oral history of the show to mark its 20th anniversary, writer James Hurst explained that the then actor pursued legal action after his character wound up in a wheelchair.“There was a letter from a law firm in Toronto, and it was from Aubrey [Graham, aka Drake],” Hurst told AV Club.“It was an odd letter that said, “Aubrey Graham will not return to Degrassi season six as Jimmy Brooks unless his injury is healed, and he’s out of the wheelchair.”The writer called Drake in to get to the root of

If Drake got his way, Jimmy Brooks would’ve had a very different ending on Degrassi. According to a writer on the teen drama, the rapper, whose full name is Aubrey Drake Graham, threatened to quit the series if his character remained in a wheelchair after season 5.

Drake allegedly almost left “Degrassi: The Next Generation” because of his character’s storyline.
