Actress Hilary Duff has surprised fans by reuniting with her Lizzie McGuire co-stars online for the first time in “almost 18 years”.

LIZZIE McGuire first hit our screens in early 2001 and the Disney series went on to become a cult classic. The show skyrocketed its leading star Hilary Duff's career, with the actress - now 34 - going on to front some huge roles after the series ended.

Hilary Duff’s breakout role on Lizzie McGuire yielded years of success for the actress that continues today, while her costars chose slightly different paths.The sitcom — starring Duff (Lizzie McGuire), Lalaine (Miranda Sanchez), Adam Lamberg (Gordo), Jake Thomas (Matt McGuire), Hallie Todd (Jo McGuire) and Robert Carradine (Sam McGuire) — aired from 2001 to 2004 and consisted of two seasons and 65 episodes. Duff also played the leading lady in the beloved Lizzie McGuire Movie in 2003 alongside several of her castmates and some new faces.The show maintained such popularity in the years after its end that Disney+ announced a revival in August 2019.

We may not have the Lizzie McGuire revival just yet, but this is the next best thing!!

Hilary Duff has her ride-or-die fans on the edges of their seats over the fate of her Lizzie McGuire revival.But production was halted by Disney+ earlier this year over some complex creative differences, and Duff was not pleased.She gave fans something to hold them over Monday when she reunited with her co-stars via Zoom for a surprise virtual table read, which she posted to Instagram.

The gang’s all here! Hilary Duff joined her Lizzie McGuire costars for a table read of an old episode of the Disney Channel series on Monday, May 11, to raise money for COVID-19 relief.

We might have to wait a while (or forever) for new Lizzie McGuire, but Hilary Duff has brought us the next best thing.  In a 44 minute Instagram video, Duff and the original cast of Lizzie McGuire reunited for a virtual table read of an episode, and it may or may not be the first episode of Lizzie McGuire you think of when you think of the show: the bra episode! Which just so happens to have aired on May 11, 2001!
