Hollyoaks' Gregory Finnegan hints at James Nightingale exit as he hits dangerous new low
Hollyoaks star Gregory Finnegan has teased that James Nightingale could be leaving the village imminently. The 47-year-old actor has played the scheming lawyer in the Channel 4 soap since 2016.Over the years, James has been involved in plenty of dramatic storylines including a historical abuse storyline with his father Mac Nightingale (David Easter). However, fans are set to witness James spiral out of control as he continues to use gambling as a misguided escape from his feelings of grief following the death of his beloved mother Marnie Nightingale.Things go from bad to worse for the villager when he loses Marine's inheritance, causing a huge family rift.Speaking to Daily Star, Gregory explained :"He really does press the nuclear button and it's going to get worse for him and more dramatic."He's going to break everything around him and I think we're going to see him at the lowest we've ever seen him in the village, to the point where he may not even be in the village anymore."I love playing the character and we'll have to see if it continues."In upcoming scenes, James arrives at the casino with Luis, the sex worker who recently spent the night with John Paul McQueen (James Sutton).Luis seems concerned about James's behaviour, but there's seemingly no talking him round. As his luck has recently started to run out, this could all end in disaster if the outcome doesn't go his way.The soap star said: "These new characters James meets are on the seedier side and there's a bit of darkness going on there."He's carousing with prostitutes and all sorts so it's fun stuff to film but tragic to watch."James basically doesn't care anymore.
