SPFL play-offs were impossible without declaring Lowland League winner, says chief George Fraser
As Lanarkshire Live exclusively revealed last week, the Lowland League declared Kelty Hearts as champions in a statement earlier today. The Highland League also announced Brora Rangers as champions today using PPG despite only three league fixtures having been played. Both leagues had no other option to facilitate the pyramid play-offs and ensure a club would face the bottom place League Two side - if permitted by the SPFL.“It became clear that to move forward with the play-offs that we’d have to declare a champion club,” Fraser said.“The board made a decision that if we wanted to progress a club into the pyramid play-off then we had to abide by the rules given to us.“It became clear to us that null and void simply wasn’t an option.
