jailed for eight years for causing or allowing the toddler’s death.But this week the Court of Appeal judges increased it to 12 years after her sentence was branded “too soft”.The Daily Star Sunday can reveal the mum is on suicide watch after she was told the news.Prison staff and inmates known as listeners and trained by counselling service The Samaritans are monitoring her welfare at New Hall prison, west Yorkshire.A source told us: “Frankie was devastated to learn of the increase in her sentence.“Prisoners in her position often turn to self-harm or attempt suicide but there are protocols and balances in place to make sure that doesn’t happen.“The staff are also obviously aware of her change in sentence and will monitor her for changes in behaviour.“They have taken her under their wing should she want them to make sure she’s coping the best she can.”Smith has turned her single cell at New Hall prison in West Yorkshire into a shrine to the tot.The source added: “Her cell is covered in photos of Star and she has items from her short life like bits of clothes and the odd toy.“The place is like a shrine as the enormity of what she let happens sinks in.”Frankie was jailed for causing or allowing the death of her 16-month-old daughter, who was killed by her former girlfriend Savannah Brockhill.Brockhill stomped little Star to death after waging a campaign of brutal emotional and physical abuse against the tot.The bouncer and security guard, 28, received a minimum sentence of 25 years for murder - which was not deemed soft at the review.Speaking after the judgment, Attorney General Suella Braverman QC said: “This is a tragic and extremely upsetting case and my thoughts are with all those who loved Star Hobson.“This case
