Pixies are doubling down in 2025.Starting in June, the surf punk pioneers will embark on a North American summer tour where they play two unique concerts in each city they visit.At each first show on the run, the quartet will perform their classic 1990 album “Bossanova” and 1991’s “Tromp Le Monde” cover to cover. Night two gigs will reportedly consist of the band’s greatest hits — we’re guessing “Where Is My Mind,” “Monkey Gone To Heaven,” “Debaser,” “Here Comes Your Man” and “Gigantic” will likely make the set list — along with tracks from their 2024 record “The Night The Zombies Came.”And, yes, Pixies are coming to New York.Midway through this ambitious nationwide trek, Black Francis, Joey Santiago, David Lovering and Emma Richardson are scheduled to bring their traveling two-night extravaganza to the newly opened Brooklyn Paramount on Tuesday, July 15 and Wednesday, July 16.Kurt Vile and the Violators will serve as support at all shows on the summer jaunt.Five months before the double album/greatest hits excursion gets underway, Black Francis is heading out on a solo run of his own celebrating the 30th anniversary of his 1994 album “Teenager Of The Year.” That tour swings into Brooklyn Steel on Saturday, Feb.

Pixies‘ Joey Santiago and Dave Lovering have spoken to NME about their new album ‘The Night The Zombies Came’, new bassist Emma Richardson and their top reunion tips for Oasis.Their ninth album, released on Friday (October 25) follows on from 2022’s acclaimed ‘Doggerel’ and was recorded at Vermont’s Guilford Sound studios with regular second-era producer Tom Dalgety.Boasting a loose zombie theme, with the undead, their victims and gun-toting heroes cropping up throughout, it’s also the first Pixies album to feature Richardson – best known as bassist and singer in Southampton’s Band Of Skulls – after previous bassist Paz Lenchantin left the band in March claiming that her departure was “a bit of a surprise to me as it is to many”.Lovering described the band’s new line-up as “wonderful”.“Emma’s a joy,” the drummer told NME. “She plays really well, she sings really well.

Pixies have released a new track titled ‘Oyster Beds’ ahead of their set at London’s All Points East festival.‘Oyster Beds’ is the third single released from their upcoming studio album, ‘The Night The Zombies Came’, following on from ‘Chicken’ and ‘You’re So Impatient’.The guitar-laden punk track was inspired by frontman Black Francis’ return to painting during the group’s time recording at Rockfield Studios in Monmouthshire, Wales.
