Ela Minus has shared her new euphoric single ‘BROKEN’ and announced the forthcoming album ‘DIA’.‘BROKEN’ opens with atmospheric synthesisers which progress into an upbeat electronic dance beat during the chorus. “I’ve been a fool / acting all cool / and now I’m broken”, Minus sings.Speaking about the track in a press release, the musician shared: “I started writing this thinking I was perfectly fine and finished writing knowing I was not.” Co-directed by Minus and Losmose, the song’s accompanying video features Minus sporting a long grey skirt and matching jumper while standing in front of a giant screen in the middle of a white room.‘BROKEN’ is the second single to be released from her upcoming second album ‘DIA’ following its recently released lead single ‘COMBAT’.As per a press release, the musician’s second LP is promised to be a “rarified feat in electronic music, where cutting-edge production and space-shuddering sonics meet a burgeoning singer-songwriter’s real sense of self-reflection and private reckoning.”‘DIA’ has been described as “both introspective and expansive, the wide sweep of its songs revealing more of Ela as person and producer than ever before.” The record is set for release on January 17 via Domino and available for pre-order / pre-save here.“‘ABRIR MONTE’ is a phrase commonly used where I’m from, referring to the act of opening paths through dense foliage. Ela Minus has shared her blissed-out new single ‘COMBAT’, marking her first release in four years.The four-minute and 21 second track starts off low and soft and builds up to a cacophony of techno-aligned production and new-age synths. The track also features a quartet of woodwinds, marking the first time the Colombian producer and singer has written and recorded with acoustic instruments.‘COMBAT’ is very spacey until Minus’s soft vocals come in towards the end of the track.

Colombia-born, Brooklyn-based artist Ela Minus has released the music video for a new song “they told us it was hard, but they were wrong.” Directed by Will Dohrn, the video begins with an homage to the Andes mountain range of Minus’ home country.
