Holby City actors have filmed their final scenes and bid a tearful goodbye to the long-running BBC hospital drama. Stars of the Holby, flooded social media with tributes to the show that first aired way back on 12 January 1999.The drama looks into a fictional world of life working in the NHS and many of the cast have starred in the show for a long time.

Lorraine Kelly says ITV's move to axe Holby City is a "daft decision" and believes the show still has many more storylines to show. The Scottish born morning telly host went on her Twitter to tell of her upset at the show's demise.

Holby City and Casualty have both begun filming once again after their lockdown breaks, but which soap will broadcast new episodes first? Odds have revealed that it's more likely Holby City will make its comeback first as the soap's set opened weeks before Casualty filming started up again.Ladbrokes revealed that odds on Holby City returning first are 4.6, while Casualty's chances of being the first to air new episodes is at 5/4.BBC bosses are yet to confirm when the popular medical programmes are broadcasting new episodes, but according to Odds, it looks like fans can expect new episodes in October.
