The Offspring have announced plans for a US tour with Sum 41 and Simple Plan.The bands will hit the road for a 24 date jaunt, kicking off in Washington on August 1 before wrapping up in Massachusetts on September 3.“One of the best things about being on tour is travelling the world playing to great audiences, and it’s even better when you can do it with your friends,” said The Offspring’s Dexter Holland via Kerrang. “We had sold out international tours with Simple Plan and Sum 41, and we’re excited that they’ll be joining us this summer in America.

The Offspring were joined by members of Sum 41 and Simple Plan on stage to perform ‘Why Don’t You Get a Job?’.All three bands were on the road together for The Offspring’s ‘Let The Bad Times Roll’ tour, which recently wrapped up earlier this month. During the second to last show on September 2 at the Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, New York.The Offspring were joined by Deryck Whibley of Sum 41 and Pierre Bouvier of Simple Plan during the 13th song of the night.

The Offspring‘s Dexter Holland delivered a commencement speech this month at USC’s Keck School of Medicine.The frontman earned a PhD in molecular biology from USC in 2017 and has devoted a large chunk of his life to HIV research.In his commencement speech, Holland praised his fellow graduates for their dedication to science while sharing how art and science have both been an important part of his life and how he balanced both.“My story has had both a musical side and a scientific side,” Holland explained. “I had these two great loves, how would I decide? Well as foolish as it sounds I decided to pursue both.

The Offspring just released the band’s first album in nearly a decade, Let the Bad Times Roll, led by the catchy single “We Never Have Sex Anymore”.

The Offspring for featuring a pair of chimpanzees in their ‘We Never Have Sex Anymore’ video.The video, directed by Daron Keet and Matt Egan, sees two chimpanzees dressed up in various different outfits while acting out roles on sets that include a strip club.Today (May 14), PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has sent a letter to the band’s frontman, Dexter Holland, asking him to pull the video because “it risks legitimising a cruel industry, propping up the exotic-‘pet’ trade, and reversing years of animal advocacy work that has nearly ended the use of chimpanzees in Hollywood”.“The out-of-touch video for ‘We Never Have Sex Anymore’ risks resurrecting the chimpanzee trade in Hollywood,” the letter reads.
