Two fans of Ana de Armas finally settled their lawsuit over the Yesterday debacle.

Gene Maddaus Senior Media Writer Two men who rented “Yesterday” on Amazon Prime after seeing Ana de Armas in the trailer, only to discover that her role was removed in the final cut of the film, have settled their false advertising lawsuit. Peter Rosza and Conor Woulfe sued Universal in 2022, alleging that they were each cheated out of $3.99. A federal judge initially sided with them, finding that movie trailers are not immune from false advertising claims.

Yesterday despite appearing in the trailer.The Knives Out actor appeared in the trailer for the 2019 film from director Danny Boyle, which follows struggling musician Jack Malik (Himesh Patel) who wakes up in an alternate reality where he’s the only person who remembers the Beatles.Conor Woulfe and Peter Michael Rosza said they each paid $3.99 (£3.16) to rent the film on Amazon Prime Video, only to discover that de Armas was not in the film. They filed a lawsuit for at least $5million (£3.9million) against Universal Pictures last year, over claims of false advertising, unjust enrichment and violation of unfair competition.The lawsuit claimed Universal were “false, misleading, and deceptive” by showing de Armas in the trailer for the film.In a later amendment, Woulfe claimed he had rented Yesterday a second time in 2023 on Google Play, which listed de Armas as a cast member.

Looks like a federal judge believes in Yesterday.

Yesterday, Universal’s troubles suddenly weren’t so far away, at least when it comes to Ana de Armas’ absence from the 2019 Danny Boyle directed flick Yesterday.

Two fans of actress Ana de Armas are suing the studio behind the 2019 film "Yesterday" after "Blade Runner" star was cut out of the final release.  The actress appeared in the trailer for the film about a young singer and songwriter who wakes up one day to find that the world had somehow forgotten the music of The Beatles. Seizing the opportunity, he suddenly becomes a worldwide sensation when he passes off their music as his own.  According to the complaint, which was obtained by Fox News Digital, Conor Woulfe, 38, of Maryland, and Peter Michael Rosza, 44, of San Diego County, Calif.

Gene Maddaus Senior Media WriterTwo fans filed a federal class action lawsuit on Friday alleging they were duped into renting the 2019 film “Yesterday” because Ana de Armas appeared in the trailer.Conor Woulfe, 38, of Maryland, and Peter Michael Rosza, 44, of San Diego County, Calif., say they each paid $3.99 to rent the movie on Amazon Prime, only to discover that de Armas was removed from the final cut of the film.The suit accuses Universal of engaging in deceptive marketing, and seeks to recoup at least $5 million on behalf of affected consumers.“Because consumers were promised a movie with Ana De Armas by the trailer for ‘Yesterday,’ but did not receive a movie with any appearance of Ana de Armas at all, such consumers were not provided with any value for their rental or purchase,” the lawsuit states. “Yesterday” stars Himesh Patel as Jack Malik, a singer-songwriter who, through a supernatural occurrence, is the only person on Earth who remembers the Beatles.
