Coronation Street won the Best Soap & Continuing Drama gong at the 2022 BAFTA TV Awards on Sunday 8 May.The ITV soap went up against Casualty, Emmerdale and Holby City in the coveted category. Corrie stars Sally Dynevor and Charlie de Melo, who play Sally Metcalfe and Imran Habeeb on the ITV soap, took to the stage to accept the gong. During the winner's speech, Sally paid tribute to campaigner Sylvia Lancaster following her passing last month.

Imran covers his turmoil, while Abi’s furious.When Abi bans him from seeing Alfie, Imran declares he’ll do whatever it takes, even if it means putting his name on the birth certificate.
