Holly Jones Nascent indie production outfit Little Spain and Sony Music Entertainment have provided Variety with the exclusive first look trailer for upcoming Movistar Plus+ Original “This Excessive Ambition” (“Esta Ambición Desmedida”), a unique look at the life and times of multifaceted Spanish musician, C. Tangana.

Jamie Lang LaLiga Studios, a partnership between Banijay Iberia and Spain’s top soccer division, has finalized a deal with Little Spain, the production company run by popular Spanish recording artist C Tangana, to develop a fiction series set inside the La Liga universe. It will be the first drama production developed with the La Liga IP and, according to the companies, the first with “the official seal of approval from a competition of its size and scope.” In a release, Little Spain offered a few early details about the project: “The objective is to create a story set in the context of Spanish professional football and from the idiosyncrasies of the La Liga teams, where football, culture and life converge.

Charlie Amter While Ibiza has long been a music mecca for international tourists keen on catching big-name DJs at a club, Spain’s other, larger, Balearic island, Mallorca, is hoping to become a live music magnet for fans of rock music via its growing summer festival, Mallorca Live, and another new event called Andalucía Big Festival, which debuts this fall, boasting names such as Rage Against the Machine and Glass Animals on the bill.Held this past weekend in the island’s British-holidaymaker-friendly resort town Magaluf, Mallorca Live stepped up its game in 2022, with three days of rock, Latin, rap, pop and electronic acts ranging from Spanish rapper/singer C. Tangana on Friday night to Sunday night headliners Muse, who closed out the event in a rousing set that wowed the largely local audience, though this year saw the most amount of international guests traveling to Mallorca Live than in years past, organizers say.

Muse are among the leading names on the line-up for Mallorca Live Festival 2022.Held at the Old Aquapark in the Calvià region of the Balearic island, this year’s event – which will be Mallorca Live’s fifth anniversary edition – will take place from June 24-26.Muse will headline the final night (June 26) of this year’s Mallorca Live, joining Christina Aguilera (June 25) and Spanish rapper C.
