To play Lagerfeld, Brühl not only perfected his French and learned to speak and walk with small heels like the late fashion icon, he also pulled from his own life experience as a perpetual foreigner, being both German and Spanish. Produced by Gaumont (“Lupin”), the six-part series chronicles the rise of Karl Lagerfeld through the world of 1970s Parisian high fashion.
