EXCLUSIVE: London-based Dogwoof has boarded world sales, excluding North America, on The Last Rider, the latest documentary from MRC Non-Fiction and filmmaker Alex Holmes on the story of cyclist Greg LeMond.

EXCLUSIVE: London-based documentary specialist Dogwoof is continuing its push into the production space as it announces a partnership with Australia-based outfit WildBear Entertainment.

Manori Ravindran International EditorLondon-based documentary specialist Dogwoof has restructured its business affairs and sales teams as it continues to expand into production.Former Western Edge Pictures executive Will Kane will join the company as head of business affairs, working closely with CEO Anna Godas and head of acquisitions and distribution Oli Harbottle to grow Dogwoof’s production and financing arms.Meanwhile, Cleo Veger has been promoted to head of sales, and former TVF International sales and acquisitions executive Katie Bench has joined as new senior sales executive.Veger joined in 2014 and moved to the role of sales executive in 2017, and then sales manager in 2019. She will head an expanded sales team across all sales and pre-sales as well as festivals.

Naman Ramachandran London-based documentary specialists Dogwoof and Danish production company Elk Film have revealed a commercial partnership to develop and produce documentary projects. The deal will involve a project slate of eight to 10 feature documentaries and documentary series where Dogwoof, Elk Film and the Danish Growth Fund Vaekstfonden will co-fund development. This will be The Danish Growth Fund’s first venture into documentary film development and production.

K.J. Yossman Dogwoof will handle international sales for Jason Kohn’s “Nothing Lasts Forever” following its world premiere in Berlin.Kohn spent ten years on the project, traversing across the world and speaking to industry insiders including Dusan Simic, Aja Raden, Martin Rappaport, Stephen Lussier and Chandu Sheta.“Infiltrating the highly secretive diamond industry, Kohn uncovers a threat to the lucrative trade that could devalue every diamond ever mined, effectively destroying the universal symbol of love and commitment,” reads the logline.

Arthur Ashe DocCNN Films and HBO Max have partnered with Dogwoof on a documentary – Citizen Ashe – that will explore the impact Arthur Ashe had on tennis and HIV activism. During his momentous tennis career, Ashe won three Grand Slam singles titles and became the first-ever Black player to join the United States Davis Cup team.

National Geographic Documentary Films said Tuesday that it has acquired Playing with Sharks, the feature documentary about Australian icon, conservationist and filmmaker Valerie Taylor that had its world premiere last week at the Sundance Film Festival. The pic is written and directed by Sally Aitken and is produced by WildBear Entertainment and Dogwoof. No release date plans or deal details were announced.
