The Lathums have been announced as very special guest headliners at this weekend’s Neighbourhood Festival.The Wigan band were announced last minute to perform at the Manchester Academy as part of the festival across the city centre this Saturday (October 1). It will be their first show in Manchester since they they played at the O2 Victoria Warehouse last October.The Lathums join previously announced headliners The Snuts, Everything Everything and Sundara Karma and the likes of Alfie Templeman, Baby Queen, Brooke Combe, Gracey, The Goa Express, The Skinner Brothers, Dylan, Pastel and Afflecks Palace.You can see the updated line-up poster below, and purchase tickets here.

The Lathums have scored the UK’s Number One album with their debut album ‘How Beautiful Life Can Be’, beating Drake and more to achieve the accolade.The Wigan indie band released their first full-length last week (September 24), and were reported to be battling Drake for the top spot according to the midweek chart update.It has now been confirmed today (October 1) that the band have hit the top of the charts, beating Public Service Broadcasting, whose new album ‘Bright Magic’ charts at Number Two.Speaking of the honour, Lathums frontman Alex Moore told Official Charts: “We’re four friends from Wigan who just love making music and are at Number 1 with our debut album, it’ll take a while for this one to sink in.

The Lathums have shared their new track ‘Oh My Love’, an uplifting slice of guitar-pop inspired by past “pain and uncertainty”.Despite being anchored by a jaunty guitar line, frontman Alex Moore says the song is inspired by his past experiences as a 16-year-old when he used songwriting to get through a period of “deep personal loss”.“I was only able to fully finish the lyrics after I met all you lovely people who are genuinely interested about me and the lads,” Moore said of the track on social media.“It was then I found I could make other people feel emotions and give you something to confide in.
