cops ending up on the wrong side of the law has more than doubled in seven years.Police Scotland is under increasing pressure to disclose the crimes and ranks involved.More than 360 serving officers were arrested on suspicion of criminal offences last year compared to 136 in 2013-14.During the same period, the proportion of those reported who went on to be charged with a criminal offence dropped from almost half to just one in 20.But police and the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service have refused requests for details of the arrests under Freedom of Information, claiming it does not hold data of the officers centrally and it would cost too much to trawl the records of all 17,241 of its officers.The COPFS claimed the information risked.
