A beauty pageant finalist has brought a smile to the faces of vulnerable women after a special delivery of luxury care packages.Miss South Ayrshire, Katy Broun, 18, dropped into South Ayrshire Women’s Aid Ayr HQ with 10 goodie bags that will make struggling women feel like themselves again.Nail polish, slippers and brand new pyjamas were all included in the generous donation.It comes ahead of Katy competing in the grand final of Miss Great Britain.The former model who has posed up for Nike has been on the campaign trail ahead of her date with destiny on July 30.Katy, from Maybole, told Ayrshire Live: “It was amazing the ladies were so appreciative.“I don’t think they realised just how much I was going to do. “The bags are a wee bit different.
I didn’t want to just give them essentials, that is what they go to Women’s Aid for. “I made bags that had nail polish, slippers, and pyjamas.
Me and my mum made them up. “We also put them all in travel bags that can be used again. “It’s things that can make them feel like a woman again.” Katy hopes the gesture truly captures the ethos of the competition to empower women.She added: “The competition is based around empowering women. “I wanted to do something that would help women locally.
I knew there was a Women’s Aid in Ayr. “Speaking to them I learned a lot about how important they are. “I just hope a small gesture makes a big difference.
