"We struggle with what else we could have done to save him, and in the end we know he is out of the pain now," said Melissa.
Beckett was the second son of singer-songwriter Melissa and filmmaker Julie Cypher, who split two years after he was born. When Beckett was one, Melissa revealed that her son was welcomed via artificial insemination and his biological father is singer David Crosby.
