Dua Lipa named honorary ambassador of Kosovo by country’s president
Dua Lipa has called being named an honorary ambassador of Kosovo ‘a privilege’.The British singer was born in London to Kosovo Albanian parents, with her family moving back to the country’s capital Pristina in 2008, shortly after Kosovo declared independence. The 26-year-old, who casually modelled alongside Kim Kardashian and Nicole Kidman at Paris Couture Week in July, was invited to receive the special honorary ambassador medal and certificate by President Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu on Friday, in a reception alongside her family.Dua, who was in Kosovo for Sunny Hill Festival, an annual event organised alongside her father, Dukagjin Lipa, posted photos on her social media as she reflected on the ‘honour’ of her new role.‘It’s an honour and a privilege to be able to represent my country all over the world and to continue my work and efforts globally to see that we leave our mark and make a difference.‘The youth of Kosovo deserves the right to visa liberalisation, freedom to travel and to dream big.
