LOVE Island star Tasha Ghouri has revealed how tough life in the villa was for her as a deaf person. The 24-year-old was born deaf into a hearing family and had a cochlear implant – a small electronic device in her right ear – fitted at the age of five, which allowed her to hear for the first time.

But despite the aide, Tasha has a daily battle to be able to hear and has revealed for the first time what it was really like for her on the famous show, which saw her fall in love with Andrew Le Page.

In a new YouTube video, Tasha  revealed: “Being in the villa, in such an intense environment, I struggled in conversations or when people said I’ve got a text, and read out the text, I would be like ‘oh what did the text say?’ I miss out quite a lot so it wasn’t easy in the villa.” Explaining why she struggled, the star said: “I am constantly having to lip read, even though I have my cochlear implant.
