Liam James Payne (born 29 August 1993) is an English singer and songwriter.
He rose to fame as a member of the boy band One Direction.
Payne made his debut as a singer when he auditioned for the British television series The X Factor in 2008. After being eliminated as a solo performer, he auditioned again in 2010 and was put into a group with four other contestants to form One Direction
Liam Payne is set to perform at the 2021 British Academy Film Awards using augmented reality to create an avatar which will stream on viewer's phones.
The singer, 27, will take to the stage at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday as part of the awards, which will take place over the weekend on BBC One.
In a world-first, Liam will be recorded live and beamed to fans in the UK on their mobile phones via the AR app The Round. On the night, the star's body, facial movements, and live audio data will be instantly transformed into 3D animations to create the immersive experience.
He will be wearing a motion capture suit containing sensors that pick-up his every movement, and a specially designed headset that tracks his facial and vocals.
