Liam Hemsworth’s vegan diet left him in agony and needing surgery

Liam Hemsworth has opened up about how he has had to evaluate his whole approach to veganism, after his diet – which he thought was healthy – actually left him in hospital needing surgery.

The Hunger Games actor had a rough 2019, with a split from wife Miley Cyrus, and surgery for an excruciating kidney stone left his world turned upside down.

Ending up in hospital was a shock and caused Liam, 30, to overhaul his diet after having been a vegan for years. ‘I was vegan for almost four years, and then February of last year I was feeling lethargic.

Then I got a kidney stone. It was one of the most painful weeks of my life,’ he told Men’s Health, admitting that the illness caused him to cancel his press tour for Isn’t It Romantic.
