Lana Del Rey has shared a new spoken word piece featuring music by collaborator Jack Antonoff.The three-and-a-half minute piece, titled “Patent Leather Do-Over,” was released Sunday (May 24) and pays tribute to author/poet Sylvia Plath's classic novel The Bell Jar.“Sylvia, I knew what you meant when you talked about swimming in the ocean and leaving your patent leather black shoes pointed towards it while you swam," Del Rey says. "It tickled you to leave them there."“Patent Leather Do-Over" will appear on Behind the Iron Gates -- Insights From an Institution, one of two upcoming spoken word collections.
