The number of people injured after the iconic Waverley paddle steamer crashed into a pier has risen to 24.
Emergency services raced to the scene shortly after 5pm on Thursday after the vessel collided with Brodick Pier on the Isle of Arran.
Horrified eyewitnesses described how some of the 213 passengers onboard were ‘catapulted forward’ by the force of the crash which left the boat badly damaged.
Initial reports claimed that 17 people were hurt but the Maritime and Coastguard Agency have now confirmed that a further seven people were also injured.
