Goals from Mikael Mandron, Oli Finney and Charlie Kirk saw Crewe deal passage into the second round draw, with Nathan Delfouneso scoring twice for Wanderers in the 3-2 defeat at the University of Bolton Stadium.In the defeat, Crellin's performance was again put in the spotlight with the goalkeeper making a poor clearance with a punch which went straight to Kirk for Crewe's third goal, while he arguably could have done better to keep out Finney's strike.
But speaking after the encounter, Evatt vowed not to criticise Crellin and feels the mistakes made are being highlighted due to the nature of the position the Fleetwood Town loanee plays.
