Hugger muggers pounced on a reveller who had just left a city centre nightclub, stealing his phone, bank card and cash. Mourad Bazroute, 23, and Ahmed Omar, 18, admitted swiping the items from the man, who had left Liars Club in the early hours.
Manchester Crown Court heard that the two men, as well as another unidentified accomplice, began to engage their victim in conversation, and started to hug him, at about 3am on Saturday, January 25.
He had been walking towards Bridge Street, and had been planning on getting a taxi home following a night out with friends when he was approached by the men.
