athletes have finally flown out to Tokyo to compete with Team GB and the Olympics. The opening ceremony of this year’s competition, which is confusingly referred to as Tokyo 2020, will kick off in the Japanese capital on Friday, July 23.
Scottish athletes will be hoping to go one further than their record breaking success they enjoyed during the 2016 Olympics held in Rio.
But this year’s games will be completely different to the ones held before it, as an escalating coronavirus crisis in Japan means that there will be no crowd to cheer on the Scots.
