A young dad's last message before he died after he walked onto the M1 motorway and was struck by a van has been shared at his inquest.

Levi Thompson's body was found on the northbound carriageway on the M1 motorway near Sheffield, just two days after his 24th birthday on April 15, last year.

On the night of his death, he went to his friend's house at around 1.30am, Yorkshire Live reports. About an hour later, Levi left a voicemail on his mum's phone saying: "Look after my brothers.
