Manchester United goalkeeping great Edwin van der Sar appears reluctant to predict whether his former club will qualify for next season’s Champions League.
The Dutchman – who also played for Ajax, Juventus and Fulham – said that getting points on the board early in the renewed campaign could be imperative.
When asked whether he thought United would manage it, however, Van der Sar was vague in his answer. “The first thing to say is that I really hope United get off to a good start when the matches start again,” he said. “I think that will be crucial for any team who want to be successful in the final part of the season – starting well. “That is crucial to build momentum.
