Demi Lovato 'proud' of the person she's become after near-fatal drug overdose

Demi Lovato says she's "proud" of the person she's become three years on from almost losing her life. The former Disney Channel star suffered a near-fatal overdose in 2018, which saw her suffer strokes, a heart attack and left with brain damage.

Doctors even told Demi at one point that she had just five to 10 minutes to live. She's opened up about the harrowing experience for her new four-part documentary Demi Lovato: Dancing With The Devil, which will be released on YouTube next month.

Looking back on the past few years, the 28-year-old said she's proud of how far she's come. She told People : "Everything had to happen in order for me to learn the lessons that I learned.
