motorists on a major Scots road today. The bovine beast was spotted by stunned drivers walking alongside the M8 at Harthill.
It was walking along the hard shoulder forcing police to hold back traffic. The cow had escaped its field sparking a rescue attempt from police to herd it back to the farm.A series of Tweets from Traffic Scotland detailed the drama.At 2.46 the body tweeted: "#M8 Hazard"Police are holding traffic E/B at Harthill due to a cow that has managed to find itself at the hard shoulder."Just ten minutes later the cow had been tracked and returned to its field.A tweet at 2.55pm read: "#M8 Hazard"The Cow has been returned to it's field but traffic had backed up during the time of the escape."All lanes running E/B at Harthill.
