After arriving under a transfer embargo, Frank Lampard has taken little time to retool his Chelsea squad this summer, spending lavishly at several key positions.
First, Hakim Ziyech arrived as a tricky, speedy winger. He will play opposite of Christian Pulisic, who ended the season in sensational form.
Then a deal for Timo Werner was completed. The German was the second-highest scorer in the Bundesliga last season and can play out wide or through the middle.
He will bring a clinical, prolific nature to Chelsea’s attacking play. And now the Blues are pressing on with other deals. They are close to signing Ben Chilwell and are pushing hard to sign Kai Havertz, too.
