Bruno Fernandes

Bruno Miguel Borges Fernandes (born 8 September 1994) is a Portuguese footballer who plays for Primeira Liga club Sporting CP and the Portugal national team as a midfielder. Fernandes started his career at Serie B side Novara Calcio and soon featured for Udinese and Sampdoria in Serie A.

In 2017, he signed with Sporting CP where he established himself as one of the best players in the Primeira Liga. He was named the LPFP Primeira Liga Player of the Year in both 2017–18 and 2018–19. In the latter season, he also helped Sporting win the Taça de Portugal. A senior international since 2017, Fernandes represented Portugal at the 2016 Summer Olympics and 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has revealed the reason behind his quirky goal celebration against Manchester City.Fernandes put the Red Devils 1-0 up from the spot with 111 seconds on the clock after Gabriel Jesus had fouled Anthony Martial.Luke Shaw then made it 2-0 in the second-half as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men ended City's incredible run of 21-straight wins.

Victory at the Etihad moved United up to second in the table and helped them close the gap on their great rivals to 11 points.After the match, spot-kick hero Fernandes disclosed the reason why he covered his ears while celebrating the opening goal.

He told Sky Sports: "It's for my kids. Most people already know my kids are the best of my life, whenever I score it is for.
