Welsh Government issues statement on I'm a Celebrity - as ITV prepares 'to start filming this month'

Fears had been growing that the ITV show could be in doubt after local lockdown restrictions were introduced in Conwy last night.

The tougher new restrictions were introduced in a bid to curb the rise of coronavirus infections. Speculation had been rising that Gwrych Castle in Abergele wouldn't be able to host the upcoming series as it it's within Conwy county.

People are not being allowed to enter or leave the area without a "reasonable excuse," such as for work. The rules also prohibit forming 'bubbles' - which have been used recently on the Great British Bake Off.
