Two girls have been rushed to hospital wth 'hallucinations and nausea' after eating cannabis-laced sweets said to be '50 times stronger than a joint'.

Paramedics were called after the girls reportedly suffered "nausea, hyperactivity, elevated heart rates and hallucinations" after they ate the confectionary in Edgware, north London.

Ambulance crew contacted police who said the sweets named ‘Medicated Nerds Rope Bites’ have dangerous levels of psychoactive chemical THC.

THC is the main psychoactive compound in cannabis which produces the 'high' sensation, MyLondon reports. Barnet Police issued a warning with an image showing the sweets on their Twitter account.
